Lightweight Tools

These buttons can be used to easily and quickly select the lineweights tools you would like to use. By programming these options into Revit utilizing the API (Automatic Programming Interface), users are able to utilize the keyboard shortcut (KS) method in order to use detail lines. This procedure is applicable in Revit 2018 to the current release.

Step 1: Before you begin, we need to begin a template file. First, go to the Manage Tab, click on Additional Settings and navigate to Line Styles. Here, you will be able to create new Line Styles for your template file.

Step 2: Once you have established new Line Styles, save the template file and close Revit Completely. This will allow your settings button in your toolbar to be refreshed.

Step 3 : Next, click on Settings under the KB-Detail tab and begin by assigning your Lineweights selections, icons, and lineweights names. These settings will go into effect once you have restarted Revit.

Step 4: Finally, make sure you restart Revit and you will see the latest changes. You are now ready with your custom toolbar!
