How to Convert AutoCAD Details to Revit Drafting Views

Steps

  1. Open AutoCAD Converter and choose Select .dwg File or Select Folder of .dwg Files. Optionally tick Show progress window during conversion.
  2. In Review Detected Details, untick details you don't want and edit titles. Use Merge Selected or Re-split and adjust Gap tolerance (ft) if details were split wrongly, then click Continue.
  3. In CAD to Revit, map layers to line styles and patterns to filled regions (Fill Blanks (AI) can help), and set View Naming, Prefix, Text Style and Max Text Width.
  4. Click Convert.
  5. Review the CAD to Revit - Results counts (lines, regions, text, dimensions, components) and click Copy Results if you need a record.
